Regarding the selection of Breakneck Ridge, managing partner Zeev Pearl says, “We were looking for a landscape from New York state rather than New York City, the same way we chose the Dead Sea for Israel rather than Jerusalem or Tel Aviv. Storm King mountain and the Hudson river provide one of the best views in the state, a contrast between water and mountain the same way the Dead Sea does with the Judean Desert in the back drop. In addition, Storm King mountain has an important history in terms of environmental legal battles which I personally thought adds a dimension to it. Above all, Robert simply made an excellent photograph.”
