I live in Beacon, NY, in the beautiful Hudson Valley, where there is a thriving art community with several excellent galleries on Main Street. I recently became a member of the local arts organization, the Beacon Arts Community Association, and when the website administrator called for someone to help maintain the website while she was gone on vacation, I gladly volunteered. I figured it would be a good way to stay in touch with all of the local activity, plus give something back, and help the organization in it’s vital role for the local artists including myself. In the coming weeks, I’m hoping to help redesign the site, and bring a fresh new look to an important outlet for news and events here in town.
So far its been a good experience, and I’m learning about all of the various artists and their wonderful work here in Beacon. I urge all artists to become involved in their local communities, for so many reasons, but especially because they’re the best resource you have to help you and your art become more visible, and hopefully more successful.

I’m looking to learn more about Beacon, NY as well as the art community since I am an artist who delves in photography, painting, and graphic design.
