I began my journey in photography nearly 20 years ago as a thought experiment that…
While I am primarily a landscape photographer, I regularly follow other photographers in different genres who inspire me and have something of value to teach us all. Adventure photographer Michael Clark is a huge inspiration, both for his images and his authentic approach to pursuing his craft. He's written two full length books on adventure photography, both of which I've read and will be reviewing here soon. He's also worked for some of the biggest names in the outdoor industry. For me his work combines the things I enjoy most, great natural environments with people doing what they are passionate about.
He was recently a guest blogger on Scott Kelby's blog, and what was most inspiring to me was the value he placed on risk taking and making mistakes—things I've talked about quite a bit as well. It's a worthwhile read, regardless of your profession or photographic style – many words of wisdom for sure.
