The weekly Creative Critique—Live continues this week with our 4th webinar this Thursday, April 23rd…
I’m very particular about camera backpacks, and I’ve used many over the years. I’ve been a huge fan of Gura Gear bags ever since I bought my first model, the Kiboko 30L a few years ago. They continue to refine their bags and introduce new models which cater to what photographers truly need in the field. In this in-depth video review, I go over why I love the Bataflae 26L and recommend it highly to anyone looking for a great all around backpack.
Of course, these are only my opinions, and there are some good options from other manufacturers. But for me, this backpack just works.
Also, if you order one from Out Door Photo Gear, you can get a 10% discount on any bag including this one using the code RRJBAG10.
hi Robert,
i really enjoyed the review, as always very informative. i really love the personal touch that i think your videos have plus the extremly good production quality!
thank you for sharing!
Dennis
Glad you enjoyed it Dennis – and I do put a lot of effort into making them enjoyable and visually appealing 🙂

I was about to buy the StreetWalker HardDrive. And then I saw your video. Now it’s expensive — $399. But this bag looks like the Cadillac of camera bags 🙂
Thanks for the video. I think bags are critical — especially when you are out and about a great deal.
Thanks for the feedback Ramon – yes it is not cheap, but after lots of money spend on backpacks over the years, I wish I would have had this one to begin with…I would have saved lots in the long run. As I mentioned in the video, it is an investment, but a worthwhile one IMO.
Good luck with whichever one you choose!
Thanks for the reviewm, very useful and comprehensive, I currently have a Lowepro 600 AW II for my Nikkor 600mm f/4 and a Tamrac Expedition 7 for macro stuffs, and I’m wondering if I can change both with this Kiboko backpack…
Anyway I’ve a question for you, which brand is the pant you wear in the Bataflae review video?
Thanks a lot.
Giovanni
The pants are from Mammut – http://www.mammut.ch/en/productDetail/102003751_v_0001_56/Alto-Pants-Men.html
thanks for the kind words!
Hi Robert,
first of all I just discovered you and I really appreciate your site, work and personality.
If we forget about laptop, thinking only about photo on the field and traveling with photo gear, if you just have to take one bag in between the Gura Gear Kiboko 22L+ and the Bataflae 26L, which one will you take and why?
Thank you for your interest
Kind regards,
Philippe
